order to catch up with publishers, show them the latest progress on our new game “Bounce”, as well as discussing several other projects.

For those who don’t know, Game Connection (http://www.game-connection.com) is a speed dating event for developers/publishers. As a developer you pay for a booth in the Game Connection hall and then request meetings with the publishers who are attending through the event’s  automated meeting system.  The system then sorts/allocates 30 minute meetings with those publishers who accept your request. It’s a great way to meet with a large number of people in a short space of time. It is also an excellent way to focus your product sales pitch as you only have 20 minutes to actually pitch the game and talk about it (plus 5 minutes to say hello and 5 minutes to say goodbye).

In addition to the great business opportunities there are plenty of opportunities to catch up with your pals as most of the developers head into Lyon old town for dinner/drinks in the evening. Most evenings we were to be found at the Saint James drinking with the lads from Team 17, Sony, Codemasters and more.

Game Connection takes place at GDC in San Francisco in Feb/March and again in Lyon in November. It’s well worth attending if you are looking to meet with publishers and Strawdog Studios will certainly be attending Game Connection 2009 in San Francisco.
